TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last Updated: January 2026
Welcome to the site for UNESCO x LKK: GLOBAL FOREVER FLAVORS (the “Site”), operated by Lee Kum Kee International Holdings Limited (“Lee Kum Kee”, “we”, “us”, “our”) in collaboration with UNESCO and other campaign partners (collectively, the “Campaign Partners”). These Terms and Conditions (these “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Site and your participation in the Forever Flavors Project (“Campaign”).
By accessing or using the Site and/or submitting any entry to the Campaign, you agree to be bound by these Terms, which incorporate by reference the UNESCO x LKK: GLOBAL FOREVER FLAVORS Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) and any specific terms and conditions applicable to the Campaign (“Specific Terms”). Where any Specific Terms conflict with these Terms and/or the Privacy Policy, the Specific Terms shall take precedent.
If you do not agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy or the Specific Terms, please do not use the Site or participate in the Campaign.
If you are below the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, your parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Specific Terms on your behalf.
1. The Campaign – General
1.1 Ongoing initiative; announcements
The Campaign is an ongoing initiative. Any submission period(s), deadlines, updates (including any sub-themes), and operational arrangements will be announced on the Site from time to time and may be modified at our discretion. We reserve the right, at any time and without prior notice, to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Campaign (in whole or in part), as we deem necessary or appropriate.
1.2 Eligibility
The Campaign is open to participants globally, except where prohibited by applicable law, or where the Campaign is not made available at the time of participation. You must comply with these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Specific Terms and all applicable laws when participating.
Each person may submit only one entry, regardless of which channel is used to submit the entry. If your submission is rejected or you voluntarily withdraw your submission, you may submit one additional entry in any one channel. However, if your story is reviewed and/or approved, you are not permitted to submit any further entries through any channel. Multiple submissions beyond these stated exceptions may result in disqualification.
1.3 Submission channels
You may submit your story via any one of the following channels (each, a “Submission Channel”):
Campaign website: https://foreverflavorsproject.lkk.com/
Campaign email: foreverflavorsproject@lkk.com
Red Note (Xiaohongshu): official campaign topic #味道记忆档案 and/or official account 「忘不了的味道」档案计划 (as announced)
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to adjust, suspend, or discontinue, or restrict access to any Submission Channel at any time, without prior notice or liability. We are not responsible for any technical, network, or platform issues that may affect the availability or functioning of any Submission Channel.
Where there is any conflict or inconsistency between information shown on different platforms or channels, the information published on the Site shall prevail, unless expressly stated otherwise by us.
1.4 Email Verification; no account registration
The Site does not provide an account membership or user registration system. To help ensure that we can communicate with you (e.g., submission confirmation, follow-ups, outcomes notification, and certificate delivery) and to minimize the risk of abuse or fraudulent submissions, we may require you to provide and verify your email address by entering a verification code sent to your email address before you can complete your submission through the Site.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to reject or disregard any submission where email verification is incomplete, unsuccessful, or suspected to be fraudulent. We are not responsible for any failure or delay in email delivery or verification due to technical issues, incorrect email addresses, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Providing a valid and accessible email address is solely your responsibility. We are not liable for any consequences arising from your failure to complete email verification or to receive communications as a result.
1.5 Theme and sub-themes
Your submission should center on the core theme “Flavors that Bind”, exploring how food brings people together, carries memories, and expresses cultural identity. We may introduce additional themes or sub-themes from time to time to inspire new ways of sharing (as announced on the Site).
2. The Campaign – Submission Requirements
2.1 What you submit
By participating in the Campaign, you have to submit content including, without limitation:
written story text;
photograph(s) (and/or video file(s), if any); and
related details such as display name (nickname), country/region of residence, and contact information (collectively, the “Submitted Content”).
You are solely responsible for your Submitted Content, including their legality, accuracy, and appropriateness.
2.2 Content specifications
- Text length. Your story must be at least 50 words and is recommended to be 500 to 800 words.
- Multimedia. Your submission must include at least one (1) image. Video may also be submitted; however, video is not recommended before July 2026, or such other time as determined by us and is subject to technical constraints and limitations that may change from time to time.
- Video size limit. If you submit a video, it must be under 50MB and meet any additional technical or format requirements specified on the submission page. We reserve the right to refuse, limit, or modify video submissions that do not meet these requirements.
- Language. All text and multimedia content should be in English and/or Chinese.
We may refuse, remove, compress, reformat, transcode, or otherwise process multimedia files to enable uploading, storage, display or compliance with technical or legal requirements. We are not responsible for any loss of quality or data resulting from such processing or any issues arising from unsupported formats or technical limitations.
2.3 Originality and permissions
Your submission must be your own original work. You must not submit any content created by another person, or incorporate any material owned by others, unless you have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions to do so and to grant the rights described in these Terms.
If your submission includes any identifiable individuals (e.g., in photos or videos), you represent and warrant that you have obtained all necessary permissions, consents, and releases from those individuals (or, in the case of minors, from their parent or legal guardian) to use, share and publicly display their personal information, image, likeness, voice and other related personal rights for the purposes of the Campaign as described in these Terms, and to grant the rights set out herein. You further represent and warrant that your submission does not infringe upon any third party’s reputation rights, copyrights or other legitimate rights and interests.
We reserve the right, at its sole discretion, to request proof of such permissions at any time and to reject or remove any submission that does not comply with these requirements. You are solely responsible for any claims, liabilities, or disputes arising from your failure to obtain the necessary rights or consents, or from any infringement of third-party legitimate rights and interests caused by your submission.
2.4 Compliance and prohibited content
All submissions must be positive, wholesome, and respectful. Your submission must not:
contain politically or religiously sensitive topics;
be discriminatory, inflammatory, hateful, violent, illegal, or promote harmful, unsafe, or otherwise objectionable activities;
infringe or violate any intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party;
contain any content that is false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate; or
otherwise violate these Terms or applicable law or regulation.
We reserve the right, at its sole discretion, to review, refuse, remove, or take any other appropriate action with respect to any submission that is found or suspected to violate these requirements, without prior notice or liability. You are solely responsible for ensuring your submission comply with all applicable laws and these Terms.
2.5 Required information; legal name requested only if selected
At the time of submission, you may provide a nickname or display name, and you must provide accurate and current contact information and indicate your country or region of residence. This information is required to enable effective administration of the Campaign and to communicate with you as necessary.
If your submission is approved or selected for recognition (such as issuance of a certificate or other acknowledgment), we will request additional information from you for identity verification and certificate delivery purposes, including, without limitation, your legal full name and updated contact details (which may include a mobile phone number). Only participants with selected or approved submissions will be contacted for this purpose.
We reserve the right to verify the identity and eligibility of any participant at any stage and to request further information or documentation as deemed necessary. Failure to provide accurate, complete, or timely information may result in disqualification or forfeiture of any recognition or award. We are not responsible for any loss, delay, or failure in delivery resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you.
2.6 No fees
No fee or payment of any kind shall be payable by us to any participant in relation to participation in the Campaign, the submission of the content, or any publicity, promotion or use of submissions relating to the Campaign. Participation in the Campaign is entirely voluntary and does not entitle any participant to compensation, reimbursement, or any other form of payment from us or our affiliates under any circumstances. Participants are responsible for any costs or expenses incurred in the preparation and submission of their entry.
3. The Campaign – Review, Selection, Announcement and Communications
3.1 Review process
Submissions will be reviewed in stages:
Initial review (Lee Kum Kee team): Submissions will undergo an initial screening by the Lee Kum Kee team to assess compliance with these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Specific Terms, relevance to Campaign’s theme/sub-theme, and basic quality standards;
Secondary review (Lee Kum Kee + UNESCO): Submissions passing the initial review may be further assessed by representatives from Lee Kum Kee and UNESCO (and/or their appointed reviewers) based on criteria including, but not limited to: alignment with the Campaign theme, authenticity and personal connection, cultural and heritage value, storytelling quality, multimedia relevance/clarity, creativity and originality, and overall positivity and compliance with all applicable requirements.
3.2 Selection criteria; no obligation to select
A submission may be selected if in the sole discretion of us and our partners, it fully meets the submission requirements and demonstrates sincere, complete, and compelling storytelling aligned with the Campaign theme. We are under no obligation to select, publish, or recognize any submission, regardless of the number or quality of submissions received. Selection, publication, and recognition are at the sole and absolute discretion of Lee Kum Kee and UNESCO (and/or their appointed representatives), who reserve the right to withhold selection or recognition for any reason or for no reason at all.
All decisions regarding review outcomes, selection, publication, and recognition are final, binding, and not subject to appeal. Lee Kum Kee and UNESCO reserve the exclusive right of interpretation and decision in relation to all aspects of the review, selection, and recognition process.
3.3 Announcement of selected entries
Selected entries will be announced at times determined by us on the Site and/or official campaign channels. The timing, frequency, and format of announcements are at the sole discretion of us and its partners.
Publication and announcements may differ across channels, as different platforms may feature different selections for communication, promotional, or editorial purposes.
For clarity, the most complete and up-to-date archive list of selected entries (including archive/reference numbers, as applicable) may be made available via a dedicated section of the UNESCO website or other designated official platforms, as the discretion of us and UNESCO.
3.4 Communications; no obligation to respond to individual inquiries on selection
After submission, you may receive an acknowledgment message confirming receipt of your submission (e.g., via email, or via direct message on the relevant platform where applicable). Receipt of such acknowledgment does not indicate selection or confer any rights or obligations.
Only participants whose submissions are selected will be contacted for further steps, such as identity verification and certificate delivery. We are under no obligation to respond to individual inquiries or requests for information regarding the status, progress, or outcome of the selection process. All decisions regarding communications with participants are at our sole discretion.
4. The Campaign – Certificates and Archive/Reference Numbers
4.1 Digital certificates
If your submission is selected, you may receive a digital certificate of recognition. Certificates will be issued within a reasonable time after selection, subject to identity verification and any operational or administrative requirements as determined by us.
4.2 Archive/reference number
Selected submissions may be assigned an archive or reference number for tracking and archival purposes. The format and verification method may be published on the Site or UNESCO website, as applicable.
4.3 Revocation
We reserve the right, at its sole discretion, to remove any submission and revoke any related recognition, including certificates and/or archive/reference numbers, if the submission is found or reasonably suspected to be infringing, unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, or otherwise in violation of these Terms or applicable law. We shall not be liable for any loss or consequence resulting from such revocation.
4.4 Nature of recognition
Certificates and archive/reference numbers are issued solely for the purpose of recognizing participation and/or selection in the Campaign. They do not constitute any official qualification, accreditation, status or endorsement by us, UNESCO, or any affiliated entity, and carry no legal or commercial value beyond the scope of this Campaign.
5. License Grant and Use of Submitted Content
5.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of your Submitted Content. However, by submitting, you grant the licenses described below.
5.2 License to Lee Kum Kee, UNESCO and Campaign Partners
By submitting any Submitted Content, you grant Lee Kum Kee, its affiliates (“Lee Kum Kee Group”), UNESCO, and the Campaign Partners a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, sub-licensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, translate, edit, create derivative works from, publish, publicly perform, display, and distribute your Submitted Content and related non-sensitive submission details for Campaign-related communications globally, in any media or format now known or hereafter developed.

archiving and verification use cases (e.g., publishing archive/reference numbers and verifying selected entries).
We may edit, format, translate, and/or excerpt submissions for clarity, length, localization, or publication layout, provided that we do not intentionally misrepresent the substance of your story.
If we use your personal data in connection with the Campaign, including disclosure through the channels described above, we will do so in accordance with the Privacy Policy and will obtain your separate consent if required by law or as necessary.
5.3 Optional follow-up communications/interviews
We may contact selected participants for follow-up questions or to invite them to participate in optional interviews or additional activities to better understand the story context of their submission. Participation in any such follow-up communications, interviews, recording, or filming is entirely voluntary and may be subject to separate consent and release documentation, which will be provided as necessary.
